Install Office 365 today!

Office 365 is installed locally, so it is much faster and more capable than any web-based office solutions, (and is also much better than the pre-installed Microsoft UWP/Metro Office applications). It can cost less as low as $1.65 per month per user or PC to keep Office-365 updated to the latest version available. Although it might seem that a subscription costs more, we believe it costs much less than any other Microsoft Office product. Your mobile devices or tablets (5, up to 11") are also licensed for free.

We strongly suggest that all users should install Office-365 today, even if you don't plan on licensing it...

Here's why this makes sense:

  • There's no cost to installing Office-365, only when you acquire and assign a license to that copy
  • The space used is going to be less than 1% hard drive space for most users.  (~700MB)
  • When someone sends you an Office document, there may be no substitute for using a locally installed copy of an Office product, like Word or Excel.  Features like change tracking are not 100% compatible to other products, don't work the same, or don't work at all.
  • Even if you don't license Office, you can still at least open any Office document, see and read it, even if you can't edit it without licensing Office.
  • OneNote Office products come with totally free licenses, even if you don't pay for any Office license.  We highly recommend that you learn to use this very unusual application.  (Later, we will have some SnapBack Apps that enhance using OneNote.)
  • When you find that you do need a genuine Office product:
    • It may be impossible to install when you need it with limited internet, (sharing in-flight Wi-Fi), or on a tethered cell connection.
    • It may be expensive to download the installer using your cellular data-plan or paid Wi-Fi.
    • When you already have it installed, simply authorize your installed Office-365 from Microsoft's website.
    • Someone else you are traveling with might need to use an Office product, which they can use, just by logging in.  (Limited to transferring that PC's license once every 3-6? Months.)

To get a license for either product:

Which version should I buy:

"Personal", "Home", or "Business versions of Office-365 "?  All of these versions include most ALL of the Office Products.

(Personal and Home include Access, 60 minutes of free Skype/user, and 1 TB of OneDrive/user)

(Business users have 50 GB of OneDrive/user, but it can be managed by the business administrator)

The differences are in how many licenses are included for USERS and/or PCs.  Here's a chart so you can understand them better:

The "Business" version has significant advantages for businesses, which we will explain later.

The "Home" version is usually the best deal, if you don't use it to run a business and:

  • Have ANYONE you can share licenses with, living in your household, (even a roommate).
    • ONLY the user of that license has access to THEIR data.  So you can't touch their files, and they can't touch yours.  (But you can still share any file or folder with them, just like you would do with any other user)
    • One person is in charge of assigning licenses.  When you "share a license", you can still assign or reassign that license from one user or PC to another, once every 90-180 days, or by chatting with Microsoft's support.
    • If a license is revoked from a PC or user, they still keep all their files and can still use Office365 in read-only mode.

The "Personal" version usually costs more, but uses the identical installation as the "Home" version.  So you do NOT have to decide Personal or Home before you install, since only the Microsoft license is different.

Why buy a "Business" version of Office-365?   If you are running a business, both PCs and employees PCs change often.  When they do, you need to ensure that one person can assign or reassign licenses, and can also control who has your files and data, who doesn't, and make rapid changes.  With a "Home" license, you do not have access to any user's files or folders, other than yours.  (You can however, still cancel and reassign a PC's or User's license periodically).

You also need to be able to migrate or set up your user's email, change from a different IT setup or using another cloud office solution.  You need the advice, tools, and technical expertise to be able to quickly do this correctly.   You will also want to be able to migrate to other Microsoft products, as needed when you grow.

How this app works

Office 365 is downloaded directly from Microsoft.com and it's hash is verfied with our records.
We extract only the files needed for an English installation into this folder: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\CDP\SnapBack\Install\office365\
Once extracted and ready to install, the user is promopted via a Scheduled Task to start the install process (since there is no silent install option)

More details coming soon...

This app works, but is still in development.
This app will also keep Office 365 up to date in the future.
